We’re absolutely in love with the creation of Billie Zangewa, the Malawi-born, Johannesburg-based artist whose work and commitment to storytelling through thread and patchwork has become her signature medium. Transposing her 2020 work, The Swimming Lesson, Zangewa’s Artycapucines bag depicts her son Mika on the edge of a glistening pool, adorned with handstitched beads and metallic thread to create a sparkling reflection, and three Monogram penguin charms in an ode to their enduring connection.
