On Sunday 25 February, Meji Meji hosted a pop-up and shopping experience at 99 Juta in Braamfontein, Johannesburg, marking their second event in South Africa after their debut at Broke Klubhouse in Cape Town a week before.
The eclectic clothing brand aims to redefine how Nigerian culture is viewed worldwide by highlighting the beauty in nostalgia — documenting the history of Africans to be told for them rather than by them.
Staying true to the brand’s ethos, the pop-up was an extravagant showcase of Black culture, and featured performances by One Dollar Photo, Glock Angel, Nkuley, Make Me Dance, Hey Nella, Garçon, and Parasite Hilton.
