“I am because we are, a philosophy of our continents teachings believing in the essence of the human spirit and how essential each person’s contribution is in creating and developing new ideas,” says Wanda, founder of the brand. “A fundamental viewpoint of the brand’s elevated aesthetic is family and community seeking to hold space and celebrate often less represented voices through what we do.”
Honest and sincere come together in an original take on tailoring styles. Silhouettes reflect refined legacy, while heavy coarse linen coats, Ghanaian woven suits, and essential denim sets enliven the scholastic wardrobe. Educated tailoring is issued with sensitive Zulu symbols; Sunsum, the word for soul and spirit in the Akan language of Ghana on shirting striped
cottons. Worlds of influence assemble through refined compositions: essential cottons, smart shirting alongside plaid graphic coats and suiting detailed with woollenfinsishings handmade in England and Italy over 30 years ago. Sunsum light-heartedness continues in workwear sets and colourful pyjamas crafted from vintage deadstock shirting.
