This past weekend, Thebe Magugu opened the doors of Magugu House for a rare and intimate event collaboration with Mayonie Productions, a leading Afro-tech record label owned by Grammy award-winning Zakes Bantwini. With a carefully curated guest list, attendees were invited to explore the storied rooms of Magugu House, each space echoing Thebe’s design philosophy rooted in heritage, identity, and storytelling — the same philosophy that guides Zakes and his approach to music, and both artists’ commitment to pushing it forward.
The DJ lineup for the first-ever ‘Mayonie @ Magugu House’ boasted a curated lineup including:
Zakes Bantwini, Morda, Thebe Magugu, Drega, Kitso Kgori, Jimm & Tonic, and a closing set by Mamthug.
The atmosphere — equal parts elegant and electric — was beautifully captured through the lens of renowned art photographer Trevor Stuurman under his multidisciplinary publishing house, The Manor, whose work documented the spirit of connection, joy, and cultural expression that defined the day.
Drinks provided by Jägermeister.
