THE MANOR AND BOYS OF SOWETO LAUNCH RIDE YOUR WAVE EXPERIENCE WITH AN UNFORGETTABLE PREVIEW NIGHT AT 44 STANLEY
Johannesburg, South Africa – The Manor recently unveiled its latest immersive experience by the internationally acclaimed contemporary streetwear brand Boys Of Soweto, launching the Ride Your Wave showcase with an exclusive preview event at The Manor – 44 Stanley, Johannesburg.
Ride Your Wave is more than a fashion presentation — it is an invitation to embrace life’s unpredictability and navigate the urban tide with presence, authenticity, and personal style. This bold collaboration encourages audiences to engage with Boys Of Soweto not only as a clothing label, but as a way of being: where fashion, freedom, and self-expression collide.
Led by visionary stylist and founder Vusumuzi Ndima, widely known as Bob the Stylist, Boys Of Soweto continues to draw from the spirit of township culture, combining classic esbhujwa with cosmopolitan refinement. The new winter collection, showcased on the night, is inspired by the rhythm of urban life, reimagining the city as an ocean and its streets as waves to ride.
“Surfing is often associated with freedom and self-expression,” says Jeff Rikhotso, photographer and longtime collaborator of the brand. “In the city, it represents carving out one’s unique path, maintaining individuality amidst the noise. It’s about riding life’s waves with purpose and grace.”
The preview evening welcomed a stylish and creative crowd, with notable guests including actress Ceecee Ndaba, model Blue Mbombo, music icon Thandiswa Mazwai, creative entrepreneur Nandi Dlephu (Mamakashaka), Kasi Flavour’s Kabelo Kungwane, Big Brother SA Finalist Libo Njomba, and many others.
Guests were treated to an atmosphere rich in culture and style, with live sets by Thabo HouseCats, Juss Banks, and Nordic Vena providing a soulful soundscape for the night. The experience was made even more memorable by Jägermeister, who served as the official drinks sponsor, food from Afters Eats and Treats, and ice cream from Forest Gelato.
The event marked the beginning of a public exhibition, open from 11 – 31 July 2025, where visitors can shop Boys Of Soweto’s winter collection alongside limited-edition photographic artworks at The Manor HQ, 44 Stanley.
