G-STAR TAKEOVER AT 44 STANLEY

On Thursday 24 July, G-Star graced 44 Stanley with a night of streetwear-meets-runway edge. As the media partner, The Manor was right in the thick of it, catching the looks, the energy, and the denim-drenched moments in between.

Whether you call it denim on denim, double denim, or the “Canadian tuxedo,” attendees arrived in numbers, sticking to the theme, to celebrate G-Star’s unapologetic approach to the fabric: its utility, shape, and structure. But this wasn’t just a style showcase; it was a cultural signal, featuring esteemed guests like J-Something, Msaki, Tresor, Musa Keys, Lootlove, Nduduzo Makhathini, Bucie, and the founder of The Manor, Trevor Stuurman.

In addition to the runway show, drinks were poured courtesy of Johnnie Walker, as conversations about design, music, and style meandered between sips of whisky cocktails. Our photographers chased the light, and somewhere between the basslines and camera flashes, it became clear that denim might not be new, but G-Star makes it feel like the future.
