Some Sundays are for sleeping in. Others are for putting on your Sunday Best and attending The Manor’s one-of-a-kind food, fashion, music, and art experience.
The latest iteration of Sunday Best powered by Nike in Johannesburg, Parkhurst on 10 August was one of those Sundays.
The style-forward gathering brought to life by The Manor and Nike was an editorial in motion, coinciding with the latest Front Runners issue that was revealed over the weekend. Everywhere you looked, there was that Nike sensibility: performance meeting polish, swooshes tucked into the details rather than screaming for attention.
As always, the crowd arrived in numbers, including the likes of Caster Semenya, Pearl Thusi, Thandiswa Mazwai, Langa Mavuso, and Manana. From flowers to footwear, art and fashion mingled effortlessly. Keneilwe Mothoa, co-owner of Neimil and one of The Manor’s Front Runners cover stars, curated a visual conversation with pieces by Ndalo Nobakada and Lebogang Mbewe.
The atmosphere wasn’t just about what people wore — it was about how they wore it, and how to have fun in it. Lia Butler’s smooth vocals, Kujenga’s live set, and Chef Mo’s rainbow-hued seven-colour plates gave the day texture beyond fabric.
