The Curtain Rises: Inside the Opening of ‘When The Party Is Over’

The opening of When the Party is Over, the latest pop-up experience and exhibition by Nao Serati and Tatenda Chidora at The Manor was everything it was promised to be: a fashion showcase, an art installation, and a celebration.

The space quickly filled with energy as friends, collaborators, and fashion enthusiasts moved between collections of Nao Serati pieces, accessories, an exclusive zine available for sale, and artwork on the walls at The Manor in 44 Stanley. Drinks flowed courtesy of Johnnie Walker, as the opening of the experience stretched into the late afternoon, thanks to unending vibes from Lelowhatsgood, Nkuley, Mordecai, and Ofentse whose b2b sets kept the crowd moving until the sub began to dip. 

If the opening was any indication, the rest of the pop-up promises an equally dynamic programme. Highlights include a paint-and-sip evening with a nude model reimagined through the distinctive Nao Serati lens, as well as a walkabout with Tatenda Chidora unpacking his exhibition.
