As South Africa concludes a landmark year, one in which the country assumed the G20 Presidency and welcomed global leaders to its shores, the country pauses to take stock of a season defined by dialogue, diplomacy, and a deepened sense of its place in the global imagination. Brand South Africa, the official marketing agency of South Africa, convened an intimate gathering at Manor, 44 Stanley in Johannesburg, to honour the individuals who bring the nation brand to life.
December is the perfect month for a reflective and celebratory moment, highlighting Brand SA’s focus on developing and implementing proactive, coordinated marketing and communications reputation management strategies, positioning South Africa as a competitive investment destination.
The midday mixer, held on Wednesday, 10 December at Manor’s concept store and exhibition space, was a curated, harvest-style lunch that drew together influential voices from across culture, media, social impact, and policy — each one contributing to South Africa’s broader and collective narrative.
Attendees included Boity Thulo, Zandile Tshabalala, Lulama Wolf, Miss Earth SA leaders Catherine Constantinides and Ella Bella, Miss South Africa’s representative, and other distinguished guests who continue to shape South Africa’s narrative on local and global stages.
The event centred on the spirit of Ubuntu: breaking bread together and celebrating community, connectedness, and gratitude. Through food, culture, music, and reflection, the Brand SA CEO, Neville Matjie, also encouraged guests to look back on a year of national milestones and the collective responsibility of advancing the South African brand.
What emerged was a moment defined by purpose — celebrating the people who live its values every day.
