The 2026 L’Ormarins King’s Plate once again cemented its status as South Africa’s most stylish sporting and social calendar moment, where fashion, culture and tradition meet under the iconic and non-negotiable blue and white dress code. This year, Manor attended the much-anticipated event where Savanna Light showed up in true brand fashion with sophistication, humour and a light touch. While the dress code may be strict, the vibes certainly were not.

True to its “It’s Not That Heavy” philosophy, the brand opted for a light-touch approach that favoured ease over excess. Savanna Light leaned into connection, culture and comedy, meeting guests where they already were: dressed up, switched on and ready to be seen, and everyone understood the assignment.

At the centre of the moment was a confident fashion statement as Savanna’s Chief Dry Officer, Steve Jobe, stepped out in a bespoke look inspired by Savanna Light Premium Cider and the L’Ormarins King’s Plate signature blue and white palette, created in collaboration with award-winning South African designer Mzukisi Mabena of Imprint ZA. The result was a modernised turtleneck crafted from breathable fabrics, featuring a refreshed blue and white colour story that nodded to the event’s heritage while incorporating Savanna’s visual codes and its core product POV of keeping it light. Comfortable enough for a full day at the track. Sharp enough for the socials.

Surrounded by a curated circle of tastemakers and creatives, Savanna Light’s presence was about sparking connection. Light-hearted humour, organic moments and easy conversation carried the experience, while guests showed up fashionably to make the moment whole. By owning the blue and white theme in its own way, heroing its lighter cider variant and partnering with local design talent, Savanna Light once again demonstrated how premium experiences can be delivered with ease, intention and personality. Proving that premium doesn’t have to come with pressure.
